Daggett Middle School – Barbara Simpson and Michael Blackmon came to speak to the neighborhood about Daggett Middle School. Highlights include:  they have met all the state standards and have earned a B rating from the State.  They only have around 393 students, with an average of 11:1 student to teacher ratio.  They have many volunteer opportunities, you can register at voly.org to learn more.  Upcoming fundraising initiatives include a walk-a-thon to raise funds for gymnasium improvements.

Bonnie Blackwell spoke on behalf of Rachel Gollay, to ask the neighborhood for funds to donate to LGBTQ Saves FW (https://www.lgbtqsaves.org/), for the purchase of Pride flags and associated hardware.  The flags will be purchased from Lone Star Banner and will be a nice quality flag.  The flags will be made for sale for local residents and will help raise funds for this organization.  Bonnie and Rachel are asking for $300 to be donated from the FNA.  After membership discussion, there is a motion made that FNA donates $300, with a second.   This vote was taken by written ballot, and the final vote resulted in a vote of 22 in favor and 16 against, motion passes.  The meeting agenda referenced a second vote, to hang the flags along Allen, but that vote has been tabled for now, as the US flags are typically hung there to celebrate Memorial Day, Flag Day, and the 4th of July.  Bonnie and Rachel were not aware the US flags were on display then, and do not request they be removed to hang the Pride flags.
