  • Crime update
  • Keep your doors locked now that holiday season is coming.
  • Call Officer Gardner to pick up the packages that are being delivered so that they are not sitting on your porches and they will hold them at the police station.

Dr. Kent Scribner – Superintendent of FWISD

  • Ballot initiative 
  • Voter Approval Tax Ratification
    • 7 months since we have had in person classes
    • Full-time virtual classes
    • Goal is to be a letter A, FWISD is at a C right now
    • Making progress for the better
    • Phased in starting in person instruction starting in October. 
    • 50/50 split on voluntary in person to virtual environment
    • Proposed tax rate would still have us in the middle of the pack for the school districts in Tarrant County
    • 3 areas where the money would be invested
      • Teacher Compensation
      • Safety, Health and Security
      • Connectivity and Devices
    • FWISD question is at the end of the ballot
    • Can send questions and comments to Jennifer Perez
    • 2 videos are available online and the presentation will be available on the neighborhood Facebook Page

Ann Zadeh – Our neighborhood city council representative

  • COVID funds are being used to provide wifi for communities in need
  • Rosemont neighborhood is the one selected from District 9

Regina Jackman – Finance

  • High level, assume the budget will be for a normal year
  • Presentation of the budget. Link to the document is available on the community website
  • Items that have changed
    • Newsletter went down as we moved to a digital format
    • Plaques are way up, but they are prepaid so it balances out on the other side of the books
    • Public Space Maintenance went down since we are no longer paying for the mowing 
    • Socials went up so we can attempt to reengage as a community once the COVID pandemic ends
  • Richard Riccetti motions to approve
  • Barbara Crotty seconds the motion
  • Yea: 20 out of 23

Richard Riccetti – Hemphill Corridor Task Force

  • More historic sites along Hemphill than on Magnolia or Main St.
  • Rezoning is the result of community feedback
  • Building standards and rezoning will develop a standard for use of the land off Hemphill
  • Goal is to protect the neighborhoods while allowing new business to come in and thrive. Revitalization.
  • Requesting a letter of support from the community to submit to the zoning committee
  • Tax incentives to save historic structures as opposed to tearing them down
  • Susan Taylor moves for a letter of support

Michael McDermott – Historic Preservation

  • Park Place and 8th Ave
    • Sagebrook changed the final rendering and the building is now right on the sidewalk
    • Fairmount had input
  • Mailboxes built on the side walk 
    • should not happen, but some have popped up
    • they don’t look bad, but they are not following the rules
  • Plaques are on order and we ran out of Bronze and have 3 aluminum left

  • Scaremount 2020
    • Home decorations contest
      • Nominations sent to communications email
    • Costume/Mask contest
    • Scavenger Halloween Hunt
      • Safe and outdoors 
      • Social Distanced
    • Time is open ended so people can choose to go when they feel safe
    • Great Harvest will provide a free cookie to those who are in costume and participating in the hunt
  • No standard trick or treating this year
  • Creative candy delivery already happening 
  • Festivus
    • leaning to have it on 12th of December
    • No location yet, but will be decided soon
    • People will drive their own cars 
    • Food Trucks in a large open space so people are able to social distance
    • A safe way for children to get a picture with Santa
