Meeting Minutes
Call to order: 7:04 PM
President Amber Heard
- Welcomed group
Officer Garner
- Old 7/11 on Hemphill and Allen- fencing has gone up to prevent trespassing
- Will be in our neighborhood on Halloween, to lend assistance if needed
- Criminal activity in neighborhood has been low
- Referrals to the Jail Diversion center have also been low
- Interim code enforcement officer- Raul Aguirre, plans to attend next meeting
Approval of September minutes
Promotions- Brenda Howell, on behalf of Kelci Cox
- Good turnout at Fall Fest in the park
- 12/10- Santa will be in the park from 9-11 AM
Membership- Barbara Crotty
- Have 130 current members

Voting Item- 2022-2023 Budget
- Discussion- allocating same amount of funds for each school in the Fairmount district
- Motion to increase the School Engagement line item under Special Projects to $2,000
- Budget was approved
Community Garden- Suzanne Mabe
- Karen Kysar set up the pumpkins in the garden, families seemed to enjoy taking photos there during Fall Fest
- Discussion about possible lighting in the garden to deter trespassers
Other Business
- Neighbor expressed concern about the number of short-term rentals/Airbnb’s operating on his block in the neighborhood
- Has been reporting to the city
- City is not currently enforcing the ordinance
- Causing parking issues
- Leslie Eades- Development Associate for The Taste Project
- “Pay what you can” restaurant at 1200 S. Main
- Non-profit
- 80% staffed by volunteers
- 12/1- Will be hosting a tasting menu
- Have culinary program in the works
- Accelerated program
- Helping individuals make a living wage and receive training for other employment opportunities
- Invited our neighborhood to visit the restaurant
