FNA Board Minutes – March 7, 2016; 6:59 pm

Directors’ Reports

  • Historic Preservation – Martin Dahl
    • Ordering new contributing structure and Home Tour plaques
    • Liz Casso is revising the historic overlay
      1. Will include “discontinuous districts” like those areas around the city supporting the aerospace industry
  • Communication – Stacy Luecker
    • Home Tour
      1. Home Tour press releases are out
      2. Online ticket sales begin March 1
      3. Onsite ticket sales begin April 1.
    • Yard Sale (Alex to take lead – see “Alex” below)
      1. Alex to do flyers & Star Telegram ad
      2. Consider running “Fairmount Pickers” contest for Most Unusual Treasure purchased.
      3. Build yard sale map. Only members will appear on the map.
    • Home Tour newsletter advertising closing date is April 1.
  • Promotions – Alex Thieroff
    • All Cowtown advance promotion work is complete.
    • Yard Sale items mentioned by Stacy & Team will begin construction. (See “Stacy” above)
    • George is finalizing a location for the February social
  • Administration: Kim Worley

  • Infrastructure: Roy Neese
    • Kim to investigate 2011 minutes to see if we can understand how/why we signed a contract with the city for Fairmount Park maintenance in approximately 3Q11.
      1. Pat will ask our attorney (Chris) to review the contract. Pat will speak with Ann Zadeh afterwards, if necessary
      2. If we resign with the city, we will have to use city contractors to install/repair the current sprinkler system
      3. David mentioned that the current sprinkler was installed by Fort Worth Sprinkler in the late ‘90’s or early 2000’s
    • It will cost $3000 to install the new Fairmount Park sign (in time for Home Tour)
  • Safety – David Thrapp
    • David presented a possible Doggy Poop Station solution for Fairmount Park. Will investigate further.

 

Other:     

    • Carrie mentioned we should keep all files on Google docs to assist with updates and to keep historic data easily available for incoming officers.
