January 17, 2022 FNA Board Meeting

Call to order

Membership Renewal Update

  • 35 total have renewed this year so far (24% of members)
  • Renewal communication email/text notice

One Safe Place Donation

  • $500 proposed, seconded.

Amber- Neighborhood Engagement

  • Requesting all board members send Amber and Barbara 1-3 reasons why it is good to be a member of the FNA. (Things we have done historically to help the neighborhood- donations, volunteering, projects.)
  • Looking into cheaper option for a printed version of the newsletter       
    • Previously stopped due cost
    • Would need volunteers to deliver
  • Amber volunteered to design new Fairmount t-shirts and decals

Promotions & Communications

  • Rachel needs updates about Festivus to include in newsletter by 1/31
  • 2/27 Cowtown marathon- station in Fairmount. Blurb needed for newsletter
  • Possible social at the end of February (tie membership drive to Mardi Gras?)
  • Kelci will ask if anyone is interested in helping with a Mardi Gras event
  • Revisit adding Fairmounti Gras to next year’s budget
  • Kelci presented idea for hosting a Path of Totality event
  • Solar eclipse occurring in North America in June 2024
  • TCU astronomer Mia to head committee

Preservation

  • Currently there are 3-4 people expressing interest in being on Home Tour this year
  • In person Home Tour with masks required?
  • Order less brochures this year since there is always an excess
  • Volunteers needed to help clean up the green space
  • Adding storage building to green space
  • Michael will speak with Justin (city) to see if we need a permit/ if it is allowed
  • Pricing also needed for shed/storage building
  • People have been reporting COA violations
  • Michael attended Thistle Hill preservation meeting
  • Reminder to attend Fort Worth New Preservation Plan meeting on 1/18, virtual option next week

Finance

  • Current financials were provided in the board chat
  • Festivus- Net Income $4103 (brought in $5782, expenses were $1679)
  • Look into donating round tables, chairs, and Home Tour pedestals so we can downsize the storage unit (as rent has increased again) until Green space storage situation is figured out
  • Michael will contact Southside Pres Hall to see about donating

Administration

  • Create event calendar before end of February
  • Event conclusion notes to be filled out after events
  • Creation of a handbook for events
  • Lessons learned, suggestions, how things have been done historically, contact numbers, end of event reports

Infrastructure

  • Coordinate neighborhood wide clean up (sidewalks clear, trees cut away to improve walkability)
  • Catalog all out lights
