Andrew Epps - President

Hello Neighbors, My name is Andrew Epps, and I have served on the Board for 3 years now, including 2 years as President. As I enter my final year as President, I am very excited about all the new faces I have been seeing at our meetings, as well as the community engagement with local organizations and longstanding events in our neighborhood. I grew up in a small historic town in East Texas called Mineola and was part of a group called Junior Historians. My uncle was the leader and always encouraged me to develop a love for local and Texas history. I served as a docent every Christmas during our town’s home tour, whether I thought it was cool or not! Over time, I began to appreciate the small town and deep history in which I was raised and developed a genuine love for the history surrounding me. This appreciation was further strengthened when I met my wife, who is an architect and also loves historic buildings. We were both drawn to Fairmount when we started college in 2012 and always said that if the right house became available, we would move in as soon as possible. In 2021, that opportunity arose, and we were thrilled to join the community. We hope to give back to a community that reminds me of the many memories of my hometown, which have shaped who I am today. I am looking forward to this final year and believe the board we have is a great blend of past and new members. It will be an exciting year, and I appreciate the time the neighborhood has given me!

Barbara Crotty - Director of Membership

Barbara has lived in Fairmount for five years, moving here after retiring from nursing to be closer to her children and grandchildren in Ryan Place. Becoming involved in the Fairmount Neighborhood Association (FNA) has been an important part of building a sense of community for herself, and she now helps foster that connection for others by organizing the monthly membership socials.

Clarissa Epps - Director of Administration

I'm happy to continue to serve on the Fairmount Neighborhood Association board through 2025 as the Director of Administration. My husband, Andrew, and I purchased our first house in 2021 and, since then, have gotten involved with many aspects of the Fairmount and Fort Worth community. In addition to being on the FNA Board, I am on the Tarrant County Historical Commission as Secretary, and serve on the FNA Historic Preservation Committee as well. I'm an architect by profession, and in my free time enjoy thrifting and traveling!

Elizabeth Sehon - Director of Communication

Elizabeth Sehon, who has lived in Fairmount for the past two years, brings a deep passion for historic neighborhoods to her new role as Communications Director for the Fairmount Neighborhood Association (FNA). Growing up in a home built in 1890, Elizabeth developed an early appreciation for historic architecture. Elizabeth is a Strategic Communication Instructor at TCU and has more than 15 years of experience as a reporter and a decade in public relations. Last semester, she leveraged her expertise by using the FNA as a real-life client for her Campaigns classes. Through this project, Elizabeth and her students developed innovative communication strategies to help propel the neighborhood's community outreach efforts. In addition to her academic work, she runs a small PR company and sells vintage furniture and decor pieces. Elizabeth is married to J.B. and is the proud mother of their three-year-old daughter, Birdie. She spends her free time at Old Home Supply and refurbishing antique furniture, a hobby that integrates her love for history and interior design. Elizabeth is excited to join the FNA board and looks forward to connecting the TCU community with Fairmount and enhancing its communication efforts to serve its residents better.

Jen Kindchi - Director of Promotions

Fairmount is such a special place and I feel so lucky that I get to live here! I moved here with my family in 2020 after being initially drawn to the neighborhood for the tree lined streets, the character of the homes, and the many local businesses. What we got here is so much more than that! From the diversity of the Fairmount residents and welcoming sense of community....to the walkability, the many events and the stellar holiday decorations, we really do have it all. As the new Director of Promotions I am thrilled to help continue to show people just how wonderful and unique our neighborhood truly is!

Kim Worley - Director of Public Safety

Helloooo, Fairmount!  Huge thanks for inviting me back to our Fairmount Neighborhood Association Board.  Local favorites Ray & Carol Feyen and I look forward to serving as the base to your volunteer Public Safety Team. As for the Awkward Kimmy Bits:  Robert (Hubs) and I landed in Fairmount in 2013 fueled by the gentle influence of Lori Gallagher, Real Estate Goddess Extraordinaire and glugs of Yucatan Taco Stand tequila.  As proud caretakers of the recently landmarked Vinnedge-Loicano House, we appreciate the vital role each of our neighbors play in protecting and preserving our neighborhood as significant piece of Fort Worth’s physical history.  And, as fun- and culture-loving goofballs, we have an almost insatiable desire to keep our beloved Fairmount FUNKY.  With this, I promise to continue protecting and celebrating all that is Fairmount to the best of my abilities. May I be so bold as to ask for a favor in return?  Please join us at a Fairmount event.  Whether it’s an FNA meeting, a concert at Southside Preservation Hall, Story Time at the Fairmount Community Library or any one of the wonderful happenings at Arts Fifth Avenue – just come share in the excitement that makes Fairmount great. Heck, maybe start by grabbing a hot dog and meeting Jenny Bell, our Neighborhood Police Officer (NPO), at National Night Out at Fire Station Park on Tuesday, October 1 from 6p-8p.  (Truly, how lucky are we to live somewhere offering a little something for everybody!?!) Thank you so much, again, Fairmount – I look forward to seeing you around! PS:  If I may be of any assistance, please find me at FairmountFairmountFairmount@gmail.com.  Cheers!

Kathryn McCarthy - Co-Director of Historic Preservation

I was a resident of Austin the first time I came to Fairmount. It was for a Christmas Eve party thrown by Fran McCarthy, a friend of a friend who I had not yet met. I was immediately blown away by the vibrant array of people gathered for that party, many of them neighbors. By the next Christmas Eve Fran and I were engaged and in June 2015 we were married and I officially became a Fairmount resident. Did the fact that Fran lived in this amazing neighborhood have some bearing on the attraction? Of course it did!! As long time Fairmount residents know, Fran was passionate about Fort Worth and particularly the near Southside, and he transferred that passion and love to me. When he passed away unexpectedly in 2019 people asked me if I was going to stay here. What a silly question. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else at this time in my life. As an aging Boomer it's vital to me to live in a diverse environment and Fairmount fits the bill perfectly.

Michael Tucker McDermott - Co-Director of Historic Preservation

I'm a Fort Worth native who moved to Fairmount in 1984, since the area was only known as the Near Southside, before it was called Fairmount.😁 I was on the committee that founded the historic district in 1990. I have a passion for the neighborhood, the historic district, and our unique and often very historic old homes, and for preserving them. I've spent the last 40 years learning all there is to know about our early 20th Century domestic architecture. I admit it, I'm obsessed with Fairmount!

Kristin Klade - Director of Infastructure

Kristin Klade moved to Fairmount in fall of 2020. She is a central Fort Worth native having lived in Oklahoma and Chicago for a period of time before moving back home to Fort Worth. Her husband, John, grew up on a wheat farm in Okarche, OK, and is now a reluctant urbanite. They have a 7 year-old named Frank, a 5 year-old named Winifred, and a new puppy named Lucky. Kristin is a hospice chaplain who also teaches ballet. For the last 9 years, she has also pastored at Kyrie Pub Church, an affirming church which meets in Fairmount at Shaw's Bar & Grill. Kristin is proud to call Fairmount home and looks forward to advocating for infrastructure needs as part of the FNA board.

Hao Tran - Director of Finance

Hao has been a Fort Worth resident since 1991, raising two daughters in the city. She appreciates the unique character of the Fairmount neighborhood, its diversity, and its edginess without pretentiousness. Hao teaches culinary arts at Trimble Technical High School and owns Hao's Grocery & Cafe in the Near Southside, where you can find unique culinary treasures worth a visit.
