Join the Fairmount National Historic District for its 34th annual Tour of Historic Homes on Mother’s Day weekend, May 7-8.

The event kicks off Saturday morning with the annual Home Tour parade beginning at 10 a.m. and the tour starts at noon both Saturday and Sunday (rain or shine) and runs until 6 p.m.

Watch the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/historicfairmount and the website at www.historicfairmount.com for any updates.

Saturday, May 7 during the tour at 2 p.m. you may also join us for the Grammer-Pierce House marker dedication. The house was deemed a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark by the state of Texas in 2015 and is celebrating its centennial year. The house was on the Fairmount home tour last year. Stop by for a brief ceremony at 2 p.m., refreshments and an open house or drop any time after to see the marker.

Interested in volunteering? Volunteers receive a free ticket to the tour and an invitation to the Wine Down party on Saturday May 7, 6:30 p.m. at the Rosen House Inn. Contact volunteers@historicfairmount.com to sign up or for more information. You do not have to live in Fairmount to volunteer!

Proceeds from the tour are the primary source of funding for Fairmount Neighborhood Association endeavors. Recently, the association used profits from past Home Tours to help offset the cost of capital improvement projects such as installing period-style streetlights, replacing signs marking the boundaries of the Historic District, and enhancing area landscaping.
